Previously, Scott was President and CEO of
The Lifeline Program, one of the first and most established life settlement companies in the United States. For almost three decades, between 1989 and 2018, he led the creation of a now-multi- billion-dollar industry that empowers seriously ill patients to sell their life insurance policies for cash in their hands. At the helm of The Lifeline Program, it became synonymous with innovation, compassion, and consumer protection.
Scott began his career in the U.S. Air Force,
active duty and reserve, where he assisted in developing medical guidelines for infectious disease treatment during the HIV/AIDS epidemic. That commitment to care and advocacy carried over into his private sector work.
He has been a key contributor in the development of industry and government standards. In his role as a NAVSO founding board member, a President of the National Viatical Association, and having been appointed to the educational and ethics chairs of several trade associations, Scott led efforts in the development of anti-fraud procedures and model acts on the state level that have continued to protect investors as well as consumers.
Scott has testified to the SEC, DOI, FBI, and state legislatures, served as an expert witness, and consulted foreign banks on life settlement portfolios. In the courtroom and on Capitol Hill, he’s been a defender of integrity, transparency, and ethical progress.
Today, Scott lives between Atlanta and South Florida, where he continues to be a consumer advocate, writing leadership articles and consulting on innovative financial solutions for aging with dignity and control.
